No, the European Union has not suspended budgetary support to Sierra Leone.

SLAJ iVerify has found a claim that is making social media rounds that the EU Delegation to Sierra Leone has suspended budgetary support to Sierra Leone for stealing the June 24th multi-tier elections to be false.

Rating Justification

SLAJ iVerify has fact-checked the social media claim that the EU Delegation to Sierra Leone has suspended budgetary support to Sierra Leone for stealing the June 24th multi-tier elections and found it to be false.

To arrive at the above-mentioned conclusion, SLAJ iVerify contacted the Political Press and Information Officer, European Union Delegation to Sierra Leone, N’fa Alie Koroma who informed our fact-checking hub that the news making rounds on social media regarding the suspension of budgetary support to Sierra Leone is false.

We also endeavoured to take a look at the Delegation’s website but could not find any release in support of the claim being fact-checked.
