SLAJ-iVerify examined both the hardcopy and online versions of the Global Times Tuesday, October 3, edition and did not uncover any story regarding President Bio’s aides allegedly stealing the ICC prosecutor’s cell phone.
The main headline featured on the original front page of the Global Times differed from the online claim. The lead story in the newspaper’s original front page was “Railway & Port Lease Agreement… Government Needs to Exercise Caution.”
SLAJ iVerify also reached out to Mohamed Fofannah, the Copyright Editor at Global Times, who confirmed that they had never published such a story.
